Video consults and an AI scribe, in one place.

Run the consult, and DearDoctor drafts the clinical letter afterwards. No more juggling a telehealth app and a separate scribe. You review and approve every letter before it’s filed.

One tool, not two

Telehealth

  • A waiting room for your patients
  • Patients join from a link, with no app
  • Video calls, encrypted in transit

AI scribe

  • Transcription with speaker labels
  • Structured clinical notes
  • Your clinical letter, drafted

DearDoctor

Because it runs the call, it already has the conversation. No extra apps, no uploading recordings, no copy-paste.

“Two separate tools” means a general video-call app used alongside a standalone scribe. Setups vary.

Built around the end of your clinic day

Less admin after clinic

The consult is transcribed and the letter drafted for you, so the write-up isn’t waiting at the end of the day.

Letters out the same day

The draft is ready for you to review after the consult, so letters can go out while it’s fresh.

Eyes on the patient

No typing notes mid-conversation. You talk; DearDoctor records the audio and drafts the letter afterwards.

One tool, video and in-person

The same workflow whether your patient is on a video call or in the room.

Clinical letters, your way

Structured clinical letters in your clinic’s house style, not one specialty’s template.

Alongside your PMS

Works alongside your practice system. Elixir and Indici integrations are coming.

One flow, start to finish

Booked, then video or in-person, then the scribe listens, the letter is drafted, and you review and file it — all in DearDoctor.

Video consults

Patients join from a link in Safari or Chrome — no app to install — and wait in a waiting room until you let them in. Camera, microphone, speaker and connection are checked while they wait.

In-person consults

The same tool in your room: pick today’s patient and record on a laptop or phone browser. Audio uploads as you go, and an interrupted recording can be recovered.

AI scribe

After the consult, the recording is transcribed with speaker labels and turned into a structured draft, with flags for anything you should double-check.

Clinical letters

A clinical letter is drafted from the consult with the patient’s details filled in. You review and edit it beside the transcript, approve it, and file it to the patient record.

How it works

1

Start the consult

Your patient taps their link and waits for you — or they’re in the room and you hit record.

2

Just talk

Have the consult as normal, eyes on your patient. Afterwards, DearDoctor transcribes it and drafts the clinical letter.

3

Review, approve, file

Read the draft, fix anything flagged, approve it and file it. Nothing is sent automatically.

How we handle your patients’ data

Your clinic stays the agency responsible for your patients’ information; DearDoctor holds it on your behalf.

  • DearDoctor records audio only (never video), purely to draft your clinical letter.
  • Recordings, transcripts and draft letters are stored on Amazon Web Services in Auckland, New Zealand, encrypted at rest with AES-256 and only reachable over encrypted connections. The storage is private, with public access blocked.
  • Transcription is done by a specialist provider in the United States.
  • Letters are drafted by an AI model on Amazon Web Services in the Australia/New Zealand region.
  • You review and approve every AI-drafted letter before it’s filed. Nothing is sent automatically.
  • Video calls are encrypted in transit. Your staff sign in through an access-controlled portal, and each doctor can only open their own consult room.
  • Consent is part of your clinic’s process: your clinic asks patients for consent before using the scribe.
  • Your clinic keeps the patient record — including filed letters — in its own system, for the 10 years the Retention Regulations require.
